Claremont Dental Practice recognise dentistry for children is very important. We have always been a family dental practice, focused on looking after all members of the family, from 2 year olds up to in some cases the great grandparents!
How we cater for children
We see all children up until the age of 18 under the NHS for routine care and we also have a Paediatric Dentist for the more demanding cases (a private service for more anxious children or more complex treatments). We have a preventative ethos here at the practice in regards to dentistry for children. We believe that good habits at a young age will lead to a healthy mouth in the future.
We are used to seeing children of all ages from 2 years of age up to 18 for routine examinations and routine treatment. At their dental check-ups, we check for the development of the mouth and of course the teeth, check how well they are cleaning their teeth, and check for any cavities.
Don’t normally do this sort of thing - let alone for a trip to the dentist - but wanted to sing the praises for my hygienist Lucia today. Great job - and without the usual discomfort. Won’t go as far as saying I look forward to my next visit - but I know it’ll be fine with this hygienist.
Very efficient treatment by Ayshath (Hygienist) followed by routine examination with Dr. Johal. Happy to escape so lightly!
I have been looked after well by the Claremont team, including extensive orthodontic treatment (through lock down!). They have always been swift to respond, profane friendly. My teeth are much better today than when I started. I wished I could take them with me when I move house to Suffolk. I can’t recommend them too highly
Thanks to Claremont Dental Practice and especially Lucia Pallladino who is providing me with such wonderful care. I have never had a better hygenist, I don't think one exists, and Lucia is not only really skilled in providing treatment - very accurate, gentle, effective, thorough and takes time to give me information on what she is doing - she is also so friendly and lovely as a person. I am so lucky to have been one of your patients for over 20 years! Today I had a troublesome tooth extracted by Dr Yuhong He. I was dreading it, but I needn't have worried. As always, Dr He put me at my ease with her soothing voice and kept checking to see I wasn't in any discomfort. Her expertise aside, she is warm, welcoming and friendly. Thank you, Dr He!
I have been going to this clinic since 2016 and I am very happy with their services. The receptionists are so lovely and always going above and beyond. The hygienists and dentists are always very professional and reassuring. I moved quite far away from the practice but as I am very happy with them I am not looking to go anywhere else. The practice is located in St Margaret’s which is very easy to access by public transport. I definitely recommend the practice!
I had a hygienist appointment at Claremont Dental Practise with Sabina and was extremely satisfied! She made me feel at ease from the beginning of the appointment and was clear and open with what would be the best dental plan for me moving forward. As my dental work needed a longer time and would extend my appointment time, Sabina volunteered to stay for an hour to complete my work in 1 sitting. I am highly impressed with her professionalism and patient centred behaviour!
Aside from this, my teeth look significantly better and this is in just1 sitting!

Providing advice on your children’s dentistry
We will give you dietary advice for them if necessary and motivate them to improve their tooth brushing where needed. As they get a little older, we will closely monitor their adult teeth as they come through into the mouth and if necessary, we can arrange for our in-house specialist orthodontist to examine them and give you and them the best options for straightening their teeth, or indeed closing any unsightly spaces too.
If they are involved in sports at school, we provide bespoke fitted professional gumshields in a wide range of designs and colours. We do sometimes sadly see children who may have had a fall at the school playground or knocked a tooth during rugby. We are skilled at dealing with these cases and can usually see you at short notice to get them comfortable and then arrange for subsequent treatment.
We also have a hygienist service for children which includes a scale and polish and brushing advice. This is available privately and is normally a 15 minute appointment for younger children. Please ask your dentist for further information.
