Having qualified from Guy’s Hospital, London, in 2002, I started practising at Claremont Dental Practice and went on to become a partner. At Guy’s, I trained under some of the leading consultants in the UK and Europe, who are recognised globally throughout the profession.
I live with my wife and two children in St Margarets and I thoroughly enjoy my work and have a passion for offering high quality dentistry to adults and children. Living and working in an area popular with families, my ethos is to offer all types of general dentistry, where patients can attend knowing that not only they, but also their children, are receiving high quality dental care.
I have many interests in dentistry and, as part of my ethos for providing total dental care, place as much priority upon preventative dentistry, for example the influence of oral hygiene and dietary habits on teeth, as well as restoring teeth if they have been damaged by breakage, decay or erosion.
In my opinion, the success of dental treatment hinges not only on the quality of dental treatment, but also on successful communication between dentist and patient. I always aim to involve my patients in their dental care, with thorough explanation of their treatment plan prior to embarking on any treatment. The use of digital X-ray imaging, intra-oral photography and educational slides, assist me not only in my diagnoses, but also to show my patients their treatment planning stage more closely, so that they are aware of what we are aiming to achieve for them.
I find that this also aids the more nervous patients and children, as their involvement in their treatment helps them develop confidence going forward. Children are especially responsive to our audio visual aids, as well as watching their favourite cartoons on our in-surgery television screen!
Over the years I have been keen to keep my knowledge as up to date as possible, regularly attending dental conferences in the UK and internationally. I have been fortunate to attend conferences in the US, Canada and Egypt, as well as those held by the British Dental Association here in the UK. I am a member of the British Dental Association and the British Society For Restorative Dentistry, both of which allow me to keep in touch with new developments within the profession and allow me to treat my patients with up-to-the-minute techniques and materials.
When I am not concentrating on teeth, I enjoy keeping fit and most importantly, spending time with my family.
